It's the end of the 19th century and the end of an era. Humankind begins to expand into Mother Nature's domain, leading to disastrous consequences for the natives of the land. Many grow desperate to maintain their territory or stake their claim in any land in any way they can. As human settlement continues to threaten nature, the wolves of the five western states face a grueling decision: survival by all means necessary or die trying.
We are a semi-realistic, liquid-time, sandbox-esque wolf roleplay very loosely based off of the world of Red Dead Redemption II. Vestige offers a variety of diverse regions spanning five different states to explore, an automated shop, and user-led packs. How will you leave your pawprints on the world of Vestige?
WEATHER Snow finally arrives to the West with the arrival of winter! Ambarino's nights get colder and longer, while the states of West Elizabeth and New Hanover get their share of snowfall. New Austin and Lemoyne are spared from the frost, but there is a distinct, wintery chill in the air.
EVENTS Rumors spread of NEW PACKS FORMING throughout the five states. In addition, canines in the region of BIG VALLEY, WEST ELIZABETH are having more frequent run-ins with hunters seeking out prized commodities: wolf, coyote, and fox pelts to trade.

It was a strange feeling for the coyote to be able to explore with the amount of freedom that they had with the Redfrosts. The union of family packs they were loyal to for so many years restricted travel from beyond borders, and swift, eager punishment was handed out to anyone who disobeyed this law. It wasn't like the snowy range of Grizzlies West had much to see, anyway - not in their eyes, at least. With the constant extreme weather and massive walls of snow, they felt it wasn't even worth the effort to sneak out most of the time. Not unless a certain person was involved, anyway. They suppressed the thought as soon as it came, for it often spiraled into bouts of sadness that they felt had no time to deal with right now. Presently they spent their days adjusting to Redfrost customs, things that they had never encountered before. What came with being a member was a surprising amount of leeway to do as one desires; among this was being permitted to venture beyond Redfrost borders, so long as one returned by sundown, which, he felt, was understandable.
Jax's tour of the world began in the early morning when they departed from the territory in Grizzlies East and wandered aimlessly through the warmer lands of Ambarino (they decided that they were sickened by the cold and wished to never see a single snowflake again). They were taken aback by how gorgeous these regions were. The felt that the mountains of Grizzlies West would always have their beauty, but the world that they saw now was pretty in a different way. Where there lay walls of white and the occasional bright blue river were now rolling hills of grasses and flowers as well as trees that stretched up to Heaven, daring to poke at whoever rested in the sky. A river ran beside the canine, and, for once, the water did not frost or have sheets of ice upon its surface, nor was it too cold to even touch. They could finally move across. Too unfamiliar with the concept of swimming, they chose to cross at a sandy riverbank that appeared to be quite shallow in comparison. They had not realized that by the time their slim paws touched the soil across the river, they would have crossed into the alien state of New Hanover.
Fully immersed in their spectacular surroundings, Jax just now felt the abrupt feeling of wood and shiny metal on their paw pads. They glanced down and took note of the strange design on the ground that seemed to snake into the distance. Tracks? What beast comes through here? He had seen these before even in Grizzlies West and understood them to be tracks, but the origin of these tracks were still unknown. Humans, was the thought that popped up in their head. To their left now lay an imposing structure next to the tracks that nature could not have created - something composed of wood and some other substances they weren't sure of. But it seemed that whatever was towering to them was not towering to other species, for they noticed a smaller group of bipedal beasts inside the structure, fitting just fine into its size. Jax had never seen a human before, but they heard many tales of them even as a pup, enough for them to be distinctly identifiable.
But that group was not the only one. The sounds of horses' hooves clacking upon the ground (one that he was more aware of) took his attention to three horses with humans upon them, a human for each horse, with each human dressed in peculiar black-and-white attire much different from the various colors and designs of the humans inside the building. Though the coyote knew not the bizarre tongue of humans, they could understand when one's attention was upon them, and they could understand the grating noise that they presumed was amused laughter coming from the group. They were being watched by them. Jax was frozen in their spot as they watched one of them conjure up some sort of item (a trinket? a rock?) into his hands and point it at them. They still stood, unsure of what to do, until the item's barrel went up into flames and something whizzed past the canine's ears, just barely missing. They weren't being looked at - they were a target. Eyes wide in fear, they finally took off, the clacking of hooves following suit.
running away is easy, it's the leaving that's hard
