It's the end of the 19th century and the end of an era. Humankind begins to expand into Mother Nature's domain, leading to disastrous consequences for the natives of the land. Many grow desperate to maintain their territory or stake their claim in any land in any way they can. As human settlement continues to threaten nature, the wolves of the five western states face a grueling decision: survival by all means necessary or die trying.
We are a semi-realistic, liquid-time, sandbox-esque wolf roleplay very loosely based off of the world of Red Dead Redemption II. Vestige offers a variety of diverse regions spanning five different states to explore, an automated shop, and user-led packs. How will you leave your pawprints on the world of Vestige?
WEATHER Snow finally arrives to the West with the arrival of winter! Ambarino's nights get colder and longer, while the states of West Elizabeth and New Hanover get their share of snowfall. New Austin and Lemoyne are spared from the frost, but there is a distinct, wintery chill in the air.
EVENTS Rumors spread of NEW PACKS FORMING throughout the five states. In addition, canines in the region of BIG VALLEY, WEST ELIZABETH are having more frequent run-ins with hunters seeking out prized commodities: wolf, coyote, and fox pelts to trade.

Coursing along the southern outer edges of the forest, holding the reflection of sky-high branches, the dark, opaque surface of the Lower Montana River shimmered with sunlight and so divided his attention from a line of bovine footprints: a straggler. One scent, that of a cow elk nearby, led his nose through undergrowth and towards the sunlit rapids. There, standing on the riverbank, unware of a lupine presence, the elk drank. His paws moved deftly towards it, noiseless in their pursuit of prey, until his fangs found its flank and sank sharply into hide and flesh. Long, powerful hindlimbs extended against him to run from his grasp, dragging him back into the forest where at least one hunting companion could join the hunt.
Humans had ways of making hunting trips cleaner and quicker, Fang Hennigan recalled whilst being hauled around tree after tree and through the vegetation in-between. Debris such as leaves, rocks, and twigs had become entangled in his melanistic, unruly pelt by the time that his grip had been loosened. Soon after falling behind, his incisors captured an outstretched hindlimb of the retreating elk. Its desperate movement faltered, and would wane eventually, as Fang deepened the hold of his jaws on its exposed musculature.
"C'mon, cowboy, we're losin' daylight," he light-heartedly, through clenched teeth, encouraged the other male to weaken their prey further. For a moment, within the confines of his mind, it was them against their world. That thrilling thought ushered a rush of adrenaline throughout him, quickened his heart and breath. It was then that the cow elk escaped him for a second time, leaving him to slide backwards with his claws tearing into the earth. "Would a bet motivate you?" He questioned the other male, still teasing him, as he dropped his sinewy frame into a crouch to keep his balance. "I'll even let you decide the terms and prize," he added, cracking the slightest smirk, then melted into a blurred flash of black and silver features towards their target and rapidly reduced the distance between it and himself.
With the gentle gust of a summer breeze through the forest, Toxx found herself suddenly attuned to a new section of the world once more. Everything seemed to become so much clearer, so much more distinct, and yet much more overwhelmingly muddled together. General aromas wafted toward her from around the forest floor, bringing with them hints of larger prey, small insects, and most importantly, the water she very much craved. Max confirmed this with his assertion. Given his go-ahead to wander off, the blind young wolf picked her way carefully toward the river, ears ever pricked and nose wiggling as her nostrils flared with each sniff of the area.
Finally, as her paws stumbled fully onto the riverbank, she collapsed and lapped up the cool, refreshing liquid. Not often would Toxx be found laying nearby a body of water, but she was dehydrated and still recovering from being overheated. The cool water that touched her muzzle and slid down her throat at the behest of her long, curving tongue would help with that, for sure. Wherever the two males would go, she knew they could find their way back to the river, and was fully unconcerned with their activities, otherwise. Her tail whacked the ground a couple times as she rolled around, mouth slightly jar, panting and wiggling. The distinct odor of a young elk came to her from nearby, but just as suddenly as she smelled it was it being pursued by the one called Fang. Toxx stopped her rolling and drank thirstily from the river once again. She considered plunging herself fully into it, to cool off and to immerse herself in it for the almost weightless effect it gave her... But she didn't. The last time she did something like that, she thought she would die; sometimes she wondered why she hadn't.
